Plastics Recycling LATAM Event Reflects Interest in Recycling in Latin America
New conference provides platform for discussion of plastic recycling trends.
Last month, more than 340 participants from 14 countries attended the first ever Plastic Recycling LATAM, a conference and exhibition focused on trends, technologies, and sustainability goals in the Latin American plastics recycling market. The event was organized by Plastics Technology Mexico and its publisher, Gardner Business Media, with support from the non-profit association ECOCE.
Knowledge, Networking, and Technologies
The conference program offered more than 30 presentations on market trends, recycling success stories, and innovative technologies. Four discussion panels including brand owners, recyclers, and national and international association representatives provided an outlook of the current state of the sector in the region.
Fernando Perez Vas of BASF presented on the topic of chemical recycling.
The commercial exhibition featured 17 global companies, which presented technologies, materials, and/or services in the recycling sector.
“This is a fantastic event. It is really essential to help share knowledge between people. It also creates an excellent networking opportunity,” said Megg Humphrey, industry specialist at WRAP.
“These events are important, so that society, industry and government find out what is happening in the recycling sector,” said Laura Michau of Arpema Plasticos.
Plastics Recycling LATAM will return in 2023, on June 7 and 8, to Mexico City.
“Every year, we will continue to increase the quality and quantity of content,” said Claude Mas, executive director at Gardner Business Media.
