The patented polymer fusion labeling technology RFusion ID by Polyfuze Graphics Corp. (PGC) for durable polyolefin packing and other products continues to evolve, with the latest product line including EVA foam. At the same time, the company has partnered with leading radio-frequency identification (RFID) specialists such as Austin, Texas-based HID Global. Polyfuze has been introducing sustainable alternatives to address the numerous deficiencies of traditional labels which disrupt recycling with its campaign of “Labeling Sucks.”
As previously reported, Polyfuze’s technology fuses a pigmented polymer plastic label with a polyolefin durable product using heat/pressure via hotstamp/ VeraFlex technology. The fusion reaction takes place very quickly during the heat/pressure process, resulting in the two plastics coming together (melting/joining) and then quickly cooling once heat/pressure is released. RFusionID technology is fully compatible with basic polyolefins, and its subgroups and derivatives, including HDPE, LDPE, MDPE, UHMW, PP, glass-filled PP, TPE, TPR, TPO, TPV, structural foams and SEBS. The company’s technology has quickly become recognized for several reusable packaging products and platforms where durability and longevity matter, such as cold chain logistics and food transportation, general supply chain, asset pooling, agriculture, defense, automotive, health care and aerospace.
Moreover, the company aims to help customers navigate the complexities of RFID technology, recognizing that many are uncertain about the next steps or find the technology bewildering. As such, Polyfuse has partnered with leading RFID specialists, such as HID Global, to simplify the selection process. Helen Barker, PGC’s vice president of Strategic Initiatives, highlights this commitment, saying, "With Polyfuze's proprietary polymer fusion know-how combined with HID’s extensive RFID technology experience, we will deliver unmatched, cost-effective and sustainable marking, identification and tracking solutions for reusable, recyclable transport items and products. This partnership ensures that our customers have access to expert advice and tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.”
