Effective immediately, LS Mtron Injection Molding Machines USA is now LS IMM USA LLC, with the change made due to continued growth in the U.S. and North America. Prior to this move, the company had been legally operating in the U.S. as a division of LS Tractor USA LLC.

In addition to the name and status change, the company announced that Peter Gardner, formerly the business unit director, has been promoted to president. In a release, Gardner says the company has grown to the point where it needed to separate its business activities from LS Tractor USA and become its own entity.

In 2021, LS Mtron purchased the plastics machinery division of its U.S. distributor, Daiichi Jitsugyo America Inc. (DJA), which had been selling LS Mtron molding machines in the country since 2018. That acquisition included DJA’s technical service and training facility in Wood Dale, Ill. It also included DJA’s employees, one of whom was Peter Gardner, who was serving at the time as that business’s VP of Sales and general manager. LS Mtron was originally founded by South Korean tech giant LG Corp.

In 2022, LS Mtron expanded its operations in North America by adding three new parts and service locations. In 2023, LS IMM USA will continue to expand its service capabilities and staffing.
