‘Cutting-Edge’ Portfolio of Electrically Conductive Plastics
NPE 2024: Premix Group is unveiling its Pre-Elec compounds and concentrates for ESD, explosive atmosphere, liquid handling and metal replacement applications.
What is said to be a ‘cutting edge’ portfolio of electrically conductive and dissipative plastic compounds and concentrates is being launched by Premix Group. The company’s portfolio will be compounded at its new plant in the Apple Creek industrial complex just outside of Charlotte, N.C., starting in second quarter 2025. Premix was one of the first companies to enter the market for electrically conductive plastics in the early stages, and it is now one of the world’s leading specialists in the area.
The plant will manufacture electrically conductive and dissipative plastic compounds for various applications where static electricity creates problems. For example, Premix already offers a wide product portfolio of electrically conductive Pre-Elec compounds and concentrates for electrostatic discharge (ESD), explosive atmospheres (Ex), liquid handling and metal replacement applications.
Premix Group’s electrically conductive plastics also bring critical functionality for medium-voltage, high-voltage and extra high-voltage cables. Also actively being developed are specialty materials, such as automotive signaling cables, ROV submarine cables and cables for ATEX areas. In addition, Premix will be providing materials that comply with requirements set for medical plastics. Premix compounds will enable the health care industry to create innovations for medical care, health monitoring and accurate laboratory analyses.
