Verde Bioresins announced the launch of the EcoShop bag, a bio-based, reusable, recyclable and landfill-degradable bag through GreenGear Supply Co. The product debuted in retail sales at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The EcoShop bag is made from Verde’s Polyearthylene, which will biodegrade in less than three years under landfill conditions, as tested by a third party according to ASTM D5511. Polyearthylene contains plant-based content and is drop-in ready, according to the company.

“This collaboration with GreenGear signifies a meaningful initiative for Verde as it aligns with our commitment to advancing eco-friendly plastics solutions and catalyzing change in sustainable practices across the plastics industry, supporting the circular economy,” says Joseph Paolucci, Verde CEO.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ sustainability initiative began in 2003. “Since then, our Go Green initiative has grown into a sustainability program that works year-round to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint,” says Norman Vossschulte, director of fan experience and sustainability for the Eagles.

Verde is expected to become a publicly-traded company via a planned business combination with TLGY Acquisition Corp.
