Held in conjunction with the California Polytechnic University at Pomona and organized by MR Toub Training, the Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication course returns at the end of this month. Running from Jan. 31-Feb. 3, the four-day course, which includes a full day of hands on instruction at M.R. Mold & Engineering (Brea, Calif.), presents the opportunity for 3.2 earned university credits.

Running from 8:00 to 5:00, the course, which includes classroom instruction at the Kellogg West Conference Center, features instruction by R.D. Abbott’s Rick Ziebell; M.R. Mold & Engineering’s Rick Finnie; ELMET North America’s Bob Pelletier; Poly-Nova Technologies’ John Timmerman, and Arburg’s Stefan Scheibner.

The course offers a comprehensive overview of silicone elastomers, including basic silicone chemistry; mold manufacturing; and information about dosing units and molding machines.  With an emphasis on processing and problem solving, one full day will be spent at the molding machines with the instructors at M.R. Mold & Engineering.
