Tectubes in Sweden (U.S. plant in Vineland, N.J.) has come out with what it claims is the first biodegradable toothpaste tube. Tectubes injection molds and extrudes the parts of the tube using bioplastics from FKuR in Germany (U.S. office in Cedar Park, Texas). FKuR makes Biograde cellulose-base resins for injection molding and Bio-Flex blends of PLA and copolyester for extrusion. The biodegradable tubes are being used by Allveggie, a Swedish maker of toothpaste from natural substances.
