Mergers in Extrusion, Thermoforming
Brown Machine, Lyle Industries team up. Also NDC and Beta LaserMike.
Some well-known names in processing equipment joined forces recently:
• Thermoforming Technology Group LLC (TTG), the parent company of Brown Machine LLC, Beaverton, Mich., is the new owner of Lyle Industries, also of Beaverton. Founded in 1965, Lyle makes thermoforming equipment, trim presses, and bottle trimmers. Its specialty is roll-fed systems for PET. Brown furnishes roll-fed and cut-sheet thermoformers.
• In extrusion, NDC Infrared Engineering, Irwindale, Calif., and Beta LaserMike, Dayton, Ohio, have merged to create NDC Technologies, based in Irwindale. Both firms belong to the Spectris family of companies that supply non-contact thickness-measurement and control
technology for extrusion.

Medical Tubing: Use Simulation to Troubleshoot, Optimize Processing & Dies
Extrusion simulations can be useful in anticipating issues and running “what-if” scenarios to size extruders and design dies for extrusion projects. It should be used at early stages of any project to avoid trial and error and remaking tooling.
