New Plastics Equipment and Consumables Supplier Launches
Globeius will extend to North America and expand upon what Plastics Solutions Inc. has brought to the Latin American plastics industry for almost 40 years.
Formerly Plastics Solutions Inc., the newly created Globeius Inc. (Miami, Fl.) has expanded with new products, personnel and geographical coverage, exhibiting for the first time at Amerimold 2021.
Headquartered in Miami, Globeius is the new name of the well-known manufacturer’s representative organization Plastics Solutions Inc.—a company that has served the Latin American plastics industry for almost 40 years. The company has recently expanded with new products and new personnel and has rebranded to reflect its new identity. It has also expanded its geographical coverage to include all of the U.S. and Canada, adding products for both the agricultural and other industrial markets. Those non-plastics-specific products lead it to adopt a broader end-market agnostic name.
In a release, Ernesto Sosa, Globeius’s president, noted that his company began actively doing business in North America a couple of years ago, hiring Graeme Sands as its general manager. Based near Toronto, Sands has almost 30 years of experience in the plastics industry working with hot runner systems and temperature control products, most recently as the global director of product management for Mold Masters.
Sosa and Sands said the timing of launching during the pandemic was actually beneficial to the new business. Investing heavily in e-marketing and web presence from the start helped Globeius generate online business at the same time as the pandemic precluded in-person door knocking by reps, feeding off the “Amazon” effect that saw e-commerce explode.
The original genesis for the new company was when several of Plastics Solutions clients asked the company if it would consider distributing and servicing their products in the U.S. and Canada. As part of that, and as it expanded its portfolio further, Globeius has added 11 new product lines over the past two years. Three of those new product lines were on display at Amerimold (Sept. 21-23; Donald E. Stephens Convention Center; Rosemont, Ill.)
At that show, the company displayed numerous technologies, including material handling, mold cooling, end-of-arm-tooling (EOAT), mold storage, dry-ice cleaners and more from known suppliers like Matsui, MouldPro, FIPA, Slide and Crizaf, among others.
In business for two years, Globeius made its trade show debut in September at Amerimold.
