Sodick-Plustech Promotes Shinohara
Kohei Shinohara has been promoted to senior vice president of Plustech, the North American subsidiary of Japan’s Sodick injection molding machines.
Plustech Inc. promoted Kohei Shinohara to the position of senior vice president from his previous role of vice president. Plustech is celebrating its 20th year of business in North America. During his tenure as vice president, Shinohara led Plustech’s team in strategy development, product positioning and market segment focus, helping the company expand further into the medical sector while promoting micromolding use and knowledge in the injection molding industry. The company also moved into its current North American headquarters — a 138,000-ft.2 facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Having been at the company for 20 years, Shinohara has been instrumental in Plustech’s expansion through his support of partner marketing initiatives, including road shows and open houses across the country, as well as launching the Sodick & Friends Webinar series during COVID-19. His responsibilities have also entailed helping organize trade shows, including NPE2024 in May where the company worked with more than 20 vendor partners. Jim Hansen, Plustech president, said in a release that Plustech is targeting a 60% sales growth over the next five years.
