(East Providence, R.I.) offers mold components, including core pins, punches, blades and sleeves that are precision ground to a tolerance of ±0.000050 in, with lengths up to 14 in and tip diameters as small as 0.002 in. Featuring surface finishes to 2 RMS (root mean square), the components can be custom manufactured from tool steels such as M-2, A-2, A-10, H-13, S-7, PM-M4, PM-10V, PM-15V, 420 and 440 stainless steels, as well as beryllium-free copper alloys. The components can also be polished, coated and plated for additional wear resistance and lubricity.
Suitable for a wide range of OEM requirements, Regal Special Mold & Die Components can incorporate details including tapers, rings, vents, ribs and spirals shaped using wire EDM. Applications include the molding of a variety of precision medical, electronics and consumer products such as needles, sheaves, closures, nipples, pipettes, IV connectors, shavers, electronic components and writing instruments.
