A new two-component epoxy adhesive is designed for high-performance bonding of most thermoplastics, metals, glass, and ceramics. EP 30 from Master Bond, Inc., Hackensack, N.J., is said to develop outstanding physical strength even when cured at ambient temperatures. It reportedly has very low viscosity along with outstanding chemical resistance, dimensional stability, hardness, and optical clarity. Electrical insulation is said to be superior, even upon prolonged exposure to moisture. EP30 has potential uses potting and encapsulating electronic components as well as bonding optical elements. A USP Class VI version, EP30MED, is available for medical applications. It comes in containers from 0.5 pint to 5 gal and in gun applicators and double-pouch divider packs.
