High-Output Extruder Series Now Comes in Smaller Size
Series offers higher output, lower melt temperatures and energy savings.
Battenfeld Cincinnati has rounded out its line of solEx NG single-screw extruders by introducing a smaller machine. At NPE2024, the machine builder took the wraps off the solEX NG 45, which joins the solEX NG 60, 75, 90 and 120 as the smallest extruder in the series.
Like the other machines in the series, the solEX NG 45 has a processing unit consisting of an internally grooved barrel combined with a matching screw geometry. The process technology advantages resulting from this combination ensure an extra high-quality standard for the extruded semifinished product. When processing HDPE, these extruders also achieve a 25% higher output and for PP even of up to 40%. And in addition to that with reduced melt temperatures of about 50°F below those in conventional extruders.
Another advantage resulting from the processing unit is the reduction in energy consumption, which is around 15% lower than the previous solEX series. Source: Battenfeld-Cincinnati
