Inlet Trap Keeps Volatiles Out of Extruders
High-capacity vacuum pump inlet trap that protects extrusion lines and vacuum pumps from the volatiles.
A high-capacity vacuum pump inlet trap that protects extrusion lines and vacuum pumps from the volatiles created by extrusion processes has been introduced by Mass-Vac Inc., North Billerica, Massachusetts.
The MV Multi-Trap Vacuum Inlet Trap features all 304 stainless steel construction with a full first stage knockdown baffle, a second stage of stainless steel gauze filters, and a bottom cooling option.
Proven to extend vacuum pump life by over 12 times, they protect vacuum pumps on extruders from failures due to volatile extrusion byproducts.
Offered in 10 in., 12 in., and 16-in. dia. models for pump capacities over 2000 cfm, the trap is available with 1.5-in. to 6-in. port sizes with options such as drains and float switches for the automatic disposal of volatile compounds. In addition to stainless steel gauze filters, others include activated alumina, charcoal, and Sodasorb.
The MV Multi-Trap Vacuum Inlet Trap is priced from $2175, depending upon size and configuration.
