Something New: Coffee Capsules in PLA with IML
IML automation for PLA coffee capsules debuts in the Americas.
Beck Automation of Switzerland is showing for the first time in the Americas an IML system for single-serve coffee capsules. Both the capsules and the labels (from Verstraete in Belgium) are of PLA biopolymer. The four-cavity mold is expected to run at 6-7 sec on a 120-m.t. Netstal Elion 1200 all-electric press. The cell includes a quality check with a vision system from IMDvista.
