Welder Is Super-Rigid For Extra Precision
Model 2050 is a 20-kHz ultrasonic welder designed to minimize deflection for precise joining of sensitive parts.
Model 2050 is a 20-kHz ultrasonic welder designed to minimize deflection for precise joining of sensitive parts. A newly designed base with integrated hub and CNC-machined parts is key to its improved rigidity, reports the supplier, Sonics & Materials, Inc., Newtown, Conn. The unit features an in-line stroke cylinder that's 2.5-in. in diam. and 4 in. long. A snap-in converter is able to rotate 360°, simplifying radial horn alignment. A quick-release, threaded stop provides for fine adjustment of the horn.
A microprocessor-controlled version of the Model 2050 can weld by time or by energy input and automatically performs many functions, such as tuning. A more basic version does just time-based welding.
