MGS Mfg. Group Inc. (MGS; Germantown, Wisc.), a global provider of integrated manufacturing for plastic components used in healthcare and pharma applications, has acquired Denmark-based Technolution A/S (Technolution) — a pharma and medtech focused consultancy and development company. In a release, MGS said this deal gives the company a vertically integrated offering for healthcare customers, ranging from initial design ideation to final product delivery.

Technolution provides mechanical, usability and sustainability engineering, as well as user experience/design; test and verification; design control; quality management; project management; and simulation and modeling. Past clients include Amgen, Medtronic, Philips, Phillips Medisize, Novo Nordisk and more. The company has 77 employees across multiple disciplines and has handled more than 240 projects over the past 20 years.

MGS cites Technolution’s expertise in R&D, regulatory compliance, quality, and project management as strengths that will be paired with MGS’ capabilities in tooling, molding and automation for drug delivery devices, diagnostics and more.

In the release, MGS CEO Paul Manley said the acquisition, which extends its offerings into the early stages of product development, “takes us to the next level of medical contract manufacturing.” Technolution founder and primary shareholder Allan Spork pointed out existing synergies between the companies, noting that MGS had already acquired Formteknik in 2021, a provider of DFM/ESI, which Technolution worked closely with for more than a decade.” Headquartered in Wisconsin, MGS currently operates 16 locations around the world.
