The latest addition to the Paulson University library of online training programs is “Injection Stretch Blow Molding Process (PET-ISBM).” It’s designed to communicate the basics of PET processing technology and common problem-solving strategies for production personnel, supervisors and managers, material handlers, and setup and QC staff. Major elements of this new course from Paulson Training Programs are successful preform production, the final process of stretch-blow molding, evaluating and improving operating procedures, processing conditions that affect quality, and analyzing and solving practical PET ISBM problems.

The two-part course starts with the chemical and molecular structure of PET and the importance of the two types of crystallinity as the preform is heated and blown. This lesson examines the goals of the ISBM process: to create a bottle with strength, clarity and uniform consistency. The second part of the course covers the conditions that affect raw materials and a detailed description of the injection molding machine conditions that affect the preform.

This course supplements Paulson University’s existing library of online training for injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming and extrusion blow molding.
