Heated Nippers Offer Easier Degating
Globeius is now offering heavy-duty heated nippers from MouldPro for safer, more efficient cutting of plastics and removal of gates from molded parts.
Plastics machinery and equipment distributor Globeius Inc., Miami, Florida, now offers heavy-duty heated nippers from MouldPro that it says make degating and cutting plastic parts easier and more efficient. The heated nippers also help reduce hand and wrist injuries amongst operators by making degating less strenuous.
The 29-watt nippers have open-close actuation via a spring mechanism. Ultra-sharp 5/8-inch blades feature a cutting capacity of 5/32 inch. When used with a transformer, also sold by Globeius, the built-in heater warms the blade edges for easier, crack-free cutting and trimming of fragile materials such as acrylics, styrenics and glass-filled resins. Globeius says that even when parts and materials are at room temperature, the heated nippers enable users to execute precision cuts, leaving a smooth, clean finish.
