Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG will highlight its new Boy XS E injection molding machine range at upcoming trade shows in the Netherlands and Italy at the Kunststoffen and Plast shows, respectively. Launched at K 2022, the XS E range replaces the XS series, which debuted in 2009. The primary difference is the addition of a servomotor pump drive, as well as capabilities in micro injection molding and sprueless production in single-cavity molding. The 100 kN (11.24 tons) clamp force machine has a footprint of just 0.87 m² (9.36 ft2).

The new Boy machine range is optionally available with two different clamping platen configurations. In the standard version for conventional mold sizes up to 160 mm (6.29 in) and diagonally up to 205 mm (8.07 in) of clearance width between the tie bars. The machine features a special 75-by-75 mm (2.95-by-2.95 in) mold holder for micromolds. The injection unit that can be adjusted in height by up to 25 mm (.98 in).

At Kunststoffen, Boy Benelux, the Dutch representative of Dr. BOY, will use the Boy XS E machine to mold beer bottle openers from PA6. At Plast, the Boy XS E will mold baby bottle nipples from silicone. Both machines will have 100 kN (11.24 tons) of clamp force. The full range of XS E machines goes from 100 to 1250 kN (11.24 to 140.51 tons).

The XS E has an optional, integrated triple-socket distributor, and cooling water distribution is tracked via digital flow metering; a feature Boy says it will offer as standard its machines in the future.
