Global chemicals, plastics and synthetic fibers manufacturer RadiciGroup (U.S. office in Wadsworth, Ohio) is now offering a new line of sustainable nylons. The Renycle line includes nylon 6 resins obtained from post-consumer recycled (PCR) nylons and nylon 66 materials obtained from post-industrial recycled (PIR) nylons. These materials are the result of RadiciGroup’s long experience in PIR material technology along with its more recent experience in PCR recovery. The company’s sustainable family of Renycle nylons is also now on Matmatch, an online platform that helps designers and engineers search for the most suitable materials for their design needs.

The Renycle materials are the result of a careful selection of incoming raw materials and an advanced mechanical characterization both from the point of view of mechanical, chemical, physical and electrical performance and in reference to the reduction of the environmental impact in comparison with products with 100% virgin polymer (LCA comparison). In addition to the materials, Radici offers customer CAE services which aim to virtually reproduce both the material molding process and the mechanical, thermal or other kind of solicitations that the part will be subjected to under use conditions. Everything possible is done to predict the behavior of the materials from the very early stages of product development. The goal is to both optimize the design  take into account eco-design and environmental performance.
