Borealis Acquires LLDPE & Plastomer Lines From DSM and ExxonMobil
Acquisition consists of DSM’s Stamylex LLDPE brand name and product line and ExxonMobil’s Exact metallocene plastomer products.
Austria’s Borealis Group (U.S. office in Port Murray, N.J.) has acquired DEXPlastomers VOF, previously a Dutch 50/50 venture between Royal DSM of the Netherlands and ExxonMobil
Chemical Co., Houston.
The acquisition consists of DSM’s Stamylex LLDPE brand name and product line and ExxonMobil’s
Exact metallocene plastomer products, for which a new brand name will soon be introduced. Exact products are octene VLDPEs with densities of 0.87 to 0.92 g/cc. Stamylex is also octene copolymers of low to medium densities.
