Rainer Armbruster stands as an innovator in moldmaking. His groundbreaking introduction of cube molds has ushered in an era of enhanced quality, substantial cost efficiencies and remarkable cycle time acceleration compared to conventional methods.

The economic prowess of cube molds for producing two- and three-component plastic parts is unmatched, boasting capacities exceeding 100 million components annually. With four rotating mold faces, intricate processes integrate into part production within a smaller footprint.

Embarking on his professional journey in 1974 as a moldmaker at Dual GmbH, Armbruster's ascent saw him pioneering mold production for plastic parts. Transitioning to FOBOHA in 1977, where he ascended to the role of plant manager in 1982, Armbruster spearheaded the shift toward industrial-scale injection mold production, championing the implementation of automation.

In 1997, as FOBOHA's technical manager, Armbruster's inventive prowess gave birth to cube mold technology, culminating in its patent in 2001. Over subsequent decades, he iterated upon cube molding with innovations such as the Compact Cube and the Reverse Cube, seamlessly integrating technologies like CITI for producing multicomponent parts.

As managing director, Armbruster expanded FOBOHA’s footprint in China and Switzerland, marking 50 years of relentless innovation with 35 patents to his name. His legacy continues redefining the boundaries of injection molding, perpetuating an enduring impact on the industry.
