Engel Names New President for North American Operations
Vanessa Malena will become the new president of Engel Machinery Inc., succeeding Mark Sankovitch and after promotion from COO.
Effective Oct. 17, Engel Machinery Inc. (York, Pa.), the North American business unit of the Austrian based maker of automation and injection molding machines, will have a new president, as Vanessa Malena replaces Mark Sankovitch, who will remain a regional president of Engel in North America.
Previously COO of Engel Machinery, Malena started at the company in 2017 as a key account manager before being promoted to a regional VP of sales role. She was appointed to the management board in 2021 as COO, making her responsible for After Sales Support, Engineering, Purchasing and Automation.
In a release, Stefan Engleder, CEO of the Engel Group, said his company was happy to be able to fill this position from within its own ranks. “Vanessa Malena is a proven expert in the injection molding industry,” Engleder says. “With her planned change, we are ensuring a seamless transition for both employees and our customers.” Malena studied mechanical engineering and has held positions of increasing responsibility in plastics machinery sales for almost 30 years.
