New partnership will incorporate process waste into wood-alternative decking.
Arkansas Poly & Printing (APP), a producer of flexible packaging, has partnered with Trex, a manufacturer of composite decking. Trex composite decking is manufactured from 95% recycled and reclaimed materials, including industrial wood scrap and PE film. According to Trex’s recently released 2021 Enviromental, Social, and Governance Report, the company recycled over 1 billion lb of material in 2021.
A new Trex production site is currently under construction in Arkansas and is expected to expand Trex’s capacity to collect and recycle plastic film.
