Internally Heated Single-Zone Hot Sprue Bushings
Melt Design says the new Equatemp hot sprue bushings provide better melt flow control for more consistent molding.
Melt Design Inc. (MDi) has introduced the Equatemp single-zone hot sprue bushings saying the device gives molders better melt flow control for superior quality parts. Available in two styles—solid body and solid body with replaceable tips—the Equatemp bushings are internally heated and feature a ceramic insulator, replaceable thermocouple and predetermined wattage distribution. MDi says these features ensure the highest heat transfer rate, with more accurate temperature readings and longer heater life.
Equatemp doesn’t require additional machining when retrofitting cold runner systems, saving time and reducing cost. Melt Design’s solid body—MB style—bushing is available with extra stock when machining is required on the tip; and the solid body with replaceable tips—RB style—is offered with a choice of tip options: topless, full body, and sprue type, depending on processing requirements.
