Level Switches for Light Fluff or Packed Power Problem Applications
Dynatrol’s G Series Type GJ level detector boasts consistent results on plastic powders, pellets, flakes and regrind material applications.
A new series of level detectors specifically designed for special problem applications that involve extremely light or fluffy products or for heavier bulk solids that tend to pack or bridge easily, is now available from Dynatrol.
Comprised of three level detectors, the new Dynatrol G Series Level Switches include Type GJ, which is said to provide consistent results on applications of plastic powders, pellets, flakes and regrind material. It effectively handles powder materials for coatings, beads and tablets, fillers and other substances that vary widely in bulk density or particle size, and many other materials with a tendency to pack.
Dynatrol Type GS and Type GSS have been shown to perform successfully on fine powder as well as beads as light as 1/2 # per cubic foot (i.e. polystyrene beads). Each of these level switches reportedly is accurate on high, intermediate, or low-point level detection.
Dynatrol level detectors are said to provide superior performance in dusty environments and specialized units operate in temperatures exceeding 300 F. Said to be constructed for a long operating life, these detectors require no adjustments and having no moving parts, are touted as virtually wear-free.
The Dynatrol G series has been approved for Class I, Group C &D; Class II, Groups E, F & G; and Class III services. The basic principle of operation is as follows: The uncovered paddle is free to vibrate, producing an output signal. This signal operates a relay indicating the paddle is uncovered--a low level exists. When the paddle is covered a dampening of the oscillations occurs and the relay indicates that a high level exists.
Installation is said to be simple. The level switch is mounted through a ¾ in. half-coupling at the point of desired level detection.
