Specialty ABS for Extrusion and Thermoforming
Ineos Styrolution’s Novadur E3TZ is suitable for a range of applications including food trays, sanitary applications, and suitcases.
A new extrusion-grade ABS has been added by Ineos Styrolution to its Novodur family of ABS specialty resins which boast a range of product properties that has made them well-suited for many applications across multiple industries. Included are properties like high impact strength, chemical resistance, high gloss and food contact compliancy make Novodur grades also a very attractive solution for many healthcare applications. These resins are also known for good flowability allowing for easy processing.
Novodur E3TZ extrusion grade is said to offer good thermoforming properties and in particular high melt strength, good impact strength as well as higher ESCR. The fact that it complies with FDA food contact regulations makes it an ideal material for a broad range of applications including refrigerator liners and products ranging from food trays and sanitary applications to suitcases. It is also said to offer the additional benefit of cost reductions due to the production of thinner walls.
