Alpek Concludes Acquisition of Octal
Alpek in incorporating high-value PET sheet business into its portfolio through this acquisition.
Alpek Polyester, parent company of Charlotte, N.C., PET supplier DAK Americas, has completed its acquisition of Oman-based Octal Holding (U.S. sales office in Dallas), which started its first U.S. production of APET sheet in West Chester, Ohio, in late 2014. Alpek assumed control of Octal’s operations on June 1, 2022. .
Alpek is a leading producer of PTA, PET resin and PET sheet worldwide, one of the largest rPET producers in the Americas, the third largest EPS manufacturer worldwide, and the only producer of PP resins in Mexico. Alpek operates 35 plants across the U.S, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the U.K.
