LSR Molder Invests in Canadian Operation
Starlim is investing $10.4 million in its London, Ontario, LSR injection molding site, with plans to add 26 jobs.
Starlim North America Corp., the North American subsidiary of the Austrian-headquartered LSR injection molding giant, is investing $10.4 million in its existing facility in London, Ontario, a move supported by local government funds and forecast to create 26 jobs. This investment will support the company’s addition of a new curing oven and clean room, as well as additional manufacturing equipment for its London plant.
Starlim expanded into North America and London, Ontario, in 2005, opening an 80,000-ft2 facility after purchasing land in 2002. In 2018, the company completed a more than 170,000-ft2 expansion, following a September 2016 groundbreaking.
This newest project is supported by approximately $1.3 million in funding from the Regional Development Program’s development fund and roughly $1 million from the Ontario Together Fund. The province of Ontario is investing $140 million through its Regional Development Program to assist manufacturers across the region, providing more than $122 million to support more than 100 projects.
