Wittmann Establishes Subsidiary in Vietnam
Wittmann Vietnam Co. Ltd., located in Ho Chi Minh City and serving as a wholly owned sales and service subsidiary in Vietnam, expands the company’s market presence in Southeast Asia.
Wittmann Group has established Wittmann Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City as a sales and service subsidiary, responding to what the company sees as a rapidly growing and significant production location for the injection molding industry.
Since 2015, Wittmann has been present in Vietnam via a local agency — Tao Bangkok (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. — with which Wittmann will continue to cooperate. Giang An Le will serve as the general manager of the new subsidiary and be charged with further expanding the company’s sales and service network in Vietnam. A graduate electrical engineer and a German citizen with Vietnamese roots, An Le has 20 years of experience in international production and mechanical engineering companies, mainly in plastics.
Situated in southern Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is described by Wittmann as an important center of the local plastics industry. The new subsidiary is in the Tan Binh District, which is close to the international airport. Wittmann says numerous global players are building up new production sites in Vietnam, including many companies already using injection molding machines, robots and auxiliary equipment from the Wittmann Group in other countries.
With this latest addition, Wittmann now has a total of nine subsidiaries and additional agencies in Southeast Asia. In addition in China, it operates its own production plant for robots and auxiliary equipment, shortening delivery times for its Asian customers and simplifying logistics.
In addition to founding Wittmann Vietnam, the company has also strengthened its presence in the Philippines, where AustroPlast, based in Noveleta near Manila, has been engaged as the new sales partner for the entire Wittmann product portfolio. AustroPlast has more than 20 years of experience in the Philippines’ plastics processing industry.
