A high-temperature purging compound recently launched by Slide Products is said to demonstrate exceptional superior performance when tackling issues associated with purging of most engineered-grade resins. It is designed to prolong equipment life, reduce downtime and enhance overall efficiency in injection molding manufacturing. The chemically reactive formula includes characteristics that guarantee a thorough treatment on machinery and parts to a molecular level, even under extreme heat.
High-temperature purging products support maintenance practices with numerous benefits such as thermal stability, mechanical strength, chemical resistance and durability. Yet, not all purging compounds are created equal. According to Slide Products, unlike most abrasive purging agents, Hi-Temp Purge has a chemically reactive, nonabrasive property that safely cleans screws and barrels with virtually no odor or smoke. It works quickly to remove burnt material, color hang-ups, resin deposits and black specks, and eliminates rust. The mixture contains a nonabrasive PET carrier resin with GRAS-rated ingredients that are safe to use for food packaging applications, withstanding temperatures up to 750°F/395°C.
Slide Products says the formula is well suited for situations when a standard purging agent can’t suffice, as it appears to be unrivaled in performance and durability in terms of combating such hurdles that plague the injection molding industry. Slide offers free samples as well as a free purging consultation to ensure optimal results in any injection molding environment according to Juan Grino, Slide factory rep and purging expert.
